The GMAT is an admissions exam designed specifically for graduate business and management programs. It assesses quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, critical thinking, and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
The current GMAT consists of three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights. All three sections contribute equally to your total GMAT score.
The GMAT takes 2 hours and 15 minutes, excluding an optional 10-minute break. It contains 64 questions: 21 Quantitative Reasoning questions, 23 Verbal Reasoning questions, and 20 Data Insights questions. Each section lasts 45 minutes.
The current GMAT total score ranges from 205 to 805, with scores reported in 10-point intervals and ending in 5. Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights are weighted equally when calculating the total score.
An on-screen calculator is available during the Data Insights section. Calculators are not permitted during Quantitative Reasoning, so that section must be completed using mental calculations and your approved whiteboard.
